La Croix: Tasting

La Croix puts forth a "tasting" one Wednesday a month. Went yesterday; it was thoroughly enjoyable.

Great taste of mushroom/asparagus cream soup in a tiny sake cup; a spanish mackerel course with a nice starch; venison (tender, juicy and rare) pared with a saffron risotto (superb, and authentic Italian. Dessert was an oven baked plum half topped with sour cream ice cream. Not enough? This was followed by a visit to the chocolate lab and a couple of heavenly morsels made with Valrohna chocolate.

This tasting is free; all you have to do is call them to ask if you can be included in the next one in May.

The view of Rittenhouse Square, the lovely china and place settings in the dining room made a positive impression. I'll be back as a paying customer!
