La Cocina - Pearl River (longish)

Thanks to Deven for leading us to La Cocina in Pearl River. We attempted to go there Saturday night, but as I opened the steal door, I accidentally hit my daughters head with it. I went in for some ice, but we didn't stick around to eat. Instead We spent 2 hours in the Nyack emergency room. She is fine, no stitches were needed. I on the otherhand feel so awful about it!
Sunday, we tried going again, we entered through the back door, fine. The place is small, narrow, dark, low key, good atmosphere. I was especially glad to see 3 other tables all with young children. They give you chips (freshly fried) and salsa (a bit bland), We ordered Buffalo Shrimp, they were large and moist, the blue cheese dressing was chunky, a good appetizer, just needed a few dabs of hot sauce. My girls had macaroni and cheese, they loved it I think it was just some cheddar melted over the macaroni, no sauce, but it was tasty. I ordered the portobello mushroom, steak burrito, a good choice couldn't finish it, and my husband had the vegetable quesidilla and he liked it. The golden margarita made with Grand Marnier, was excellent, we had 2. We then headed over to King Kone also in Pearl River for a huge sundae. Looking forward to going again.
