tried la castagne (sp?) last night, 1920 chestnut st.
decent food, nice enough room, pretty good service.
definitely not mind blowing, just above acceptable.
my trofie (pasta) appetizer was interesting, to me b/c never had pasta with a slightly resistant texture.
striped bass was well done, but nothing revolutionary.
companions had scallop appetizer, and a potato prosciutto something.
they felt they tried something unique and overreached.
then they had pasta dishes for dinner, i think 1 was the gnocchi.
the wine was a nebbiolo.
good, not especially intriguing, just a good wine for conversation.
basically, we all agreed, it was a pretty okay place, maybe slightly above average.
