The menus posted for said venues are for tasting and prix fixe. Has anyone had any success getting a la carte options at these venues, or for that matter at Joel Robuchon, Guy Savoy, Bradley Ogden, etc.?
I will always do a tasting menu, basic or chef's, but occasionally there are items mentioned or offered that I would also like to try and I was wondering if anyone has been able to order these -- in addition to -- the items on the degustation? Also, how receptive are these places to substitutions of one menu item for another if you prefer something else?
