We got our Kyocera mandoline a few years ago, and at the time I loved it. Recently, I feel like it's not as sharp. There is one spot on it that the food keeps snagging, so I never get a clean cut, I always have to pull it out from the other side and it causes the edges to be jagged.
Anyone else have this problem? I was looking into mandoline reviews because I'm thinking about replacing it, and all I can find is glowing recommendations of the Kyocera. So I'm wondering if anyone else had a similar experience as mine?
Right now, I'm looking into this one as a replacement: http://www.seriouseats.com/2013/10/ga...
Any input would be appreciated! I had ordered a Benriner last year on Amazon btu returned it because it was so big and bulky, especially with the attachments. Just didn't have the room to store it. I definitely like how compact, light, and easy to use the Kyocera is. And it seems like this Microplane is similar on those points...
ETA: It was the Swissmar Borner, not the Benriner that I had gotten last year.
