This small unassuming eatery located on a quiet street near Bangsar LRT subway station serves perhaps the tastiest Hyderabadi-style biryani rice I'd ever had in Kuala Lumpur!
Amazing place. Firstly, I'm surprised by the *variety* of biryani available on its menu, ranging from the ubiquitous lamb biryani to a luxurious giant Canadian lobster biryani (priced at RM240/USD75). Secondly, its biryani packed so much flavours, I felt transported back to Hyderabad, India - where the best biryani on the Indian sub-continent, if not the world, is produced.
I chose the (boneless) chicken biryani this evening. It came on a silver platter, in a little stainless steel pot in which it was steam-cooked. The lid was sealed to the pot with dough, pressure-cooking the contents and ensuring all the flavours and scent from the curried chicken and aromatics infuse the rice. A small decanter of intense-tasting "rasam" soup was served on the side, together with cucumber-onion-yoghurt "raita", a pineapple-cucumber pickle, and some curry gravy.
The chicken pieces were meltingly tender, the rice fragrant, spicy and phenomenally delicious!
