We had a terrific meal yesterday at Kinoshita, considered by many one of the best japanese restaurants in Sao Paulo, if not the best one (Kinoshita was awarded as the best japanese restaurant by Veja Sao Paulo 2011/2012). We started with Kirin beer and as amuse-bouche lychee and cucumber. Then we had an almost raw salmon with white truffles butter, that was delicious ( photos at http://foodemotion.tumblr.com/) . After that we had some sashimi: salmon, suzuki and jellyfish, all delicious, particularly the jellyfish. Then we had salmon carpaccio with vegetables tempura and extra virgin oli and aceto balsamico sauce that really impressed us. After that we had sushis: tako, suzuki, buri, salmon and maguro.Unhappily they were out of otoro and uni. The next dish was ebi tonkatsu, tasteful like those we had in Tokyo last year. After that we had a lamb cutlet with dried pepper that was amazing. To finish, we had unagi temaki, very rich (almost asked for another one). For dessert we had mochi filled with Valrhona chocolat and white coffee icecream which I adored, despite not being a coffee ice cream fan.
The staff and decor are excellent and Murakami-san is very charming and friendly. Definitely worth checking it. Can't wait to go back.
