I went to lunch at Kinkead's on Thursday for a joint birthday celebration with two friends....and as usual it was terrific--both the food and the attentive service.
We shared a plate of the tuna tartare that was perhaps the best ever....fresh, bright tuna flavor accompanied by guacamole, capers and jicama salad. There were three fish entrees--mahi mahi, skate, and cod; all the fish were delicious and the accompaniments--especially the barley risotto with the mahi mahi and the mushrooms with the skate--were memorable.
A trio of creme brulee capped off the meal with a subtle and smooth flourish.....
They are featuring Spanish wines by the glass and they were very good.
With a generous tip, the meal came to $40 a head...not cheap, but certainly not outrageous for a wonderful meal.
