We just returned from Kauai. Had a great dinner at Pacific Cafe. Lunch twice at Mermaids (in Kapaa) - the ahi nori wraps are to die for. Watched the Sunset at the Living Room bar @ the Princeville Hotel -- sushi and beer. Had a fabulous breakfast at Ono Family Restaurant, also in Kapaa. Ono Charburger was highly recommended and good, but not necessarily worth the wait. Hamuri saimen (in Lihue) was delicious and definitely something tourists don't generally find. Went to the Beach House in Poipu for appetizers @ Sunset. The Fish Nachos and Ahi sampler were fabulous. Brennecke's was fair, but sort of high in price for what we got. Duke's is rather touristy but a very good value for the atmosphere and location. The salad bar was the best we had on the Island. I had the coconut curry stir fry. Delicious.
