Kahana Hawaiian Grill (Pasadena) report

This is a recently-opened lunch spot in a storefront on Lake Street, between Green & Cordova. They may be open for dinner too, I don't know.

Dishes include Kahlua Pork, Chicken Katsu, Kalbi Ribs, Chicken Teriyaki, Beef Teriyaki, Red Snapper, and a hamburger thing with fried eggs and gravy. All come with white rice, macaroni salad, and cabbage salad. Appetizers include Spam Musubi and Portugese sausage.

I've been a few times and I'm really enthusiastic about everything I've had. Dishes are made to order. The excellent macaroni salad seems to be made on the premises. The Kahlua Pork is really tender and slightly smoky.

Better yet, a friend who is a native Hawaiian loves the place too. Also, it seems to be busy most of the time.
