Since it seems to be Cobble Hill day on the boards, here goes...
I went to Joya last night - I really like it and order take out from them quite a bit - and had an odd experience. I may have comitted a huge faux pas - not sure. I ordered takeout, and I was on my way to pick it up when I bumped into friends. We decided to eat there -- the maitre'd laughed and said that this would be okay and they could heat up my food. Well, my friends got their meals (red snapper with very fresh mango looked so good, seafood curry was quite good) and I was left without one. The person who brought the food to our table said that mine would be right out. Okay. After five or so minutes, I got our waitress's attention and she remembered about my takeout order. She then got it from the front, handed the plastic bag to a cook who dumped it into a bowl and heated it up. Maybe the situation was poor form on my part, but I think they could have paid more attention to my meal. Also, in reheating it, they may have added more oil to the mix, weighting it down. Or it was simply too oily to begin with. This was chicken pad thai, by the way. She then brought it over, and said sorry, but didn't offer any explination or anything. Hmmm..
Harvest Market: has anyone eaten here? I have a takeout menu -- there are no prices on it and it has only approximations of what may be on the menu for any given evening. Bizarre. I tried to order and couldn't, on account of their abstract approach to the menu. Thoughts?
