I had lunch at Jonathan Lundy’s new Woodland Grill Saturday, June 2.
The tomato dill soup and salmon croquettes were both fresh and nicely prepared.
The stylized, woodsy interior décor was kind of clever but seemed rather---unfinished. The room felt sterile to me, lacking warmth or energy.
The service was, at times, absent. I grew impatient waiting for an iced tea refill and wondered if I should get up and go looking for the iced tea myself. The bill was a long time in coming. My server delivered it to my table making excuses for his absence.
I expected better service than that, especially since the restaurant was not busy during my visit.
I much prefer Jonathan’s other restaurant in the nearby Gratz Park Inn where I’ve never had a complaint.
The Woodland Grill is located on the corner of Woodland Ave. and Main Street, downtown Lexington, Ky.
