This was the fourth visit here for us, but the last one before this was probably 3 years ago or so. This will undoubtedly be the last time we go. Not that the food was bad, just that for the price it was unexciting, unmemorable and not a good cost/benefit ratio at all.
I will say that my wife tried their version of a Cosmopolitan made with some blood orange juice, vodka and a touch of Cointreau, which was excellent. My lemon drop was okay, but I have had much better. My starter was a really weird amalgam of little scallops smothered under a very gooey mess of polenta with cheese and some sort of flavored oil. A real miss in my book. My wife had the mushroom salad to start, which was fine.
Her main of large shrimp done in a tangine style with a variety of vegetables was not great. The dish was bland and the shrimp were so big and tasteless that she really didn't eat more than a quarter of it. I had the Venison Chops, one of which was very good and the other was a bit grainy. It was served with red cabbage, raspberries and pears. Just too damn much fruit. I know, I ordered it, but it was a special and I should have had her repeat the dish to me again in detail while concentrating harder. I do much better reading the menu than trying to listen to a verbal run down.
I had one glass of pinot noir with dinner and we did not have coffee or dessert. The tab was $120, plus tip.
