Jasmine Thai in Tampa

Research into where to go for Thai in this are kept turning up the name Jasmine Thai.

The chicken Pad Thai was a substantial portion, in fact some of it came home with me. Not too sweet, the lime and salt tastes came through. Asking for medium spice convinced me I wouldn't need to go for it hot in order to get any kick. Also first rate was the Massaman Curry with beef. The amount of beef was generous in a lunch portion, and of excellent quality, and the coconut milk and curry flavors outstanding. Carrots and potatoes were appropriately just slightly underdone.

One of the many things I liked about this spot was the fact they run lunch specials all week and not just M-F. Entrees come with a delicious fresh tasting chicken soup with noodles, scallions, garlic, tofu and large pieces of chicken, as well as an appetizer of an egg roll that was perfectly greaseless and crisp. Excellent. Also included was a little beignet they call a Thai Stick with what tasted kind of like sweetened condensed milk syrup and crushed peanuts for dessert.

Clean, pleasant typical Thai decor, and very efficient service even when they got slammed at about 12:30.

Under $14 for two for lunch. A bargain.
