i know there a million italian bakeries in brooklyn, mainly in bensonhurst, carroll gardens, cobble hill, and east wiliamsburg, that offer pastries, breads, and gelato/sorbets.
my question: which are the best of the bunch? if one bakery is notable for their pastries but not their gelato (or vice versa), i'd love to know.
here are some places i've heard about but have never been to--wondering if any of you can comment on these places (or any others i haven't listed) as far as their strengths or specialties. thanks!
