When I visited Japan a while back, I had a really delicious strawberry and whipped cream sandwich. Plump, sliced strawberries, lathered with a thick layer of fresh cream (that was almost custard-like in texture), all of it squeezed in between two slices of toasted egg bread.
It's just about strawberry season, and it sort of got me thinking about this sandwich ...
Can I find something similar here in SoCal?
