Hello Hounds,

I'm looking for some ideas of where to take my in-laws for a birthday celebration and I'm stumped. We've eaten at a lot of great places (some not so), and in general, the family's tastes are a bit simpler than mine.

Likes: A nice room with a view and/or fireplace, a good Caesar salad, quiet enough for six people to maintain a conversation, and suitable to bring my incredibly well mannered infant (early dinner, lunch or other off peak time is fine.)

Dislikes: Any Asian cuisines, most seafood (we're not a pork or shellfish eating group), and anything spicy.

Not looking to spend Spago/Valentino dollars as it's just a birthday, not a major milestone.

For what it's worth, here's the list of places the family has gone in recent years:

Bistro Gardens
Campanile
Casa del Mar
The Castaways
Chez Mimi
Diaghilev
Fenix
Geoffrey's
Great Greek
Il Moro
JiRaffe
La Boheme
La Bruschetta
Lavande
The Lobster
Michael's
Mojo
Monsoon
Napa Valley Grille
One Pico
Pacific Dining Car
Pinot Bistro
Polo Lounge
Saddlepeak Lodge
The Smoke House

Thanks for your thoughts!
