I have on my calendar this Saturday an annual trek to Pasadena that includes a very nice lunch (I suppose that reads expense account).
Unfortunately, most of the restaurants in Pasadena that I am curious about (Arroyo Chophouse, Bistro 45, Parkway Grill, De Lacey's Club 41) don't seem to be open for lunch on Saturday.
Each year, this results in our little group steering toward a cavernous corporate cardboard compendium of puzzled waiters / starry eyed hosts & hostesses / dishs that prominently feature too many ingredients but never much flavor / a fairly crashing din to shout over and the best looking snazzy little computer terminals at the wait stations you have ever seen.
I toss my fate to you fellow Chowhounds, like a giant beach ball at a stadium.
Can you spare me from another annual indifferent undigestible indignity? I will haul my little band from Pasadena to Pasadena environs if that is where you lead.
