I was at Great Taste the other day eating a rice plate snack in the afternoon and noticed a 50ish woman eating the twin lobster special (dine-in only, Cantonese style preparation of ginger and scallion, $15.95) alone, with a side of chicken fried rice. Not only was I impressed by her appetite, but was kicking myself for not doing the same thing!
It got me wondering where the best place to get lobster is this time of year with a great accompanying menu. I love Great Taste's menu and don't need all the other seafood that a place like Peach Farm offers. I'm trying to organize a dinner in Chinatown for some friends who are not familiar with Cantonese style lobster and Chinese food in general. So my questions are 1) has anyone tried the lobster special at Great Taste, and 2) can any recommend an awesome place in Chinatown with excellent (affordable) lobster and a solid menu to boot?
I've read this thread, and although it's related, it's not quite what I'm getting at.:
