I just found this little gem at Coit and campbell. We were the only non japanese people there.
the food is fantastic. Sushi was fresh - tuna, saba, hamachi - all were great. I had an udon noodle bowl. the broth was really lovely with lots of depth.
Also the chicken age - i know it's fried chicken but who can resist. it was lightly fried. and the batter had hints of ginger in it. Luverly!
they were out of the miso eggplant and hamachi kama. so next time..
