need inexpensive place for dinner with non-chowhound

having dinner friday night with a non-chowhound friend. she definitely likes good food, but is extremely picky. i have only ever eaten mexican, italian and american food with her. i know she eats chinese but of the corner-takeout variety. the list of will-not-eats ranges from pork to salmon to goat cheese to peas. at the same time, this is certainly not a person with an appetite for applebee's; she has standards!

a few names sounded good from time out, but i need chowhound opinions! was wondering if anyone has been to cicciolino, general store, perbacco, and a place which may or may not actually be called "name in progress" on st. marks?? or any other suggestions along those lines...thanks! these places are all EV but WV, LES, soho, whatever below 14th is fine.

my only real requirement is that the average entree be priced around $12-$14. we want fun...not too loud, but certainly not quiet or "romantic."
