Indian in the Poconos and Lunch in Centre Co.

Just got back from a week in Centre County,

two fairly new good restaurants, the "Hop" in Milheim, that serves a heavenly apple pie desert and a corn/chicken chowder, and the Water Street Cafe in Spring Mills, that is in an old bank, makes their own bread for sandwiches, and has tererific music--jazz--playing in the background, rather than the banal top 40.

On the way back, we finally decided to try the Tandoor Palace in Tannersville off of Route 80 by the Crossings Outlet Mall. It was wonderful. We had the buffet. Its in an old railroad car and even has an old engine. Goat, chicken, Goan fish curry, idli, and terrific dahl.
