What is the Indian equivalent of Sripahai?

My boyfriend, some friends from London and I are planning trip to Queens next week for an Indian dinner. Where is the best place to go? Location isn't an issue as we have a car. We don't care about the decor - friendly staff is always a plus - just spicy, tasty food! We want a place that is the Indian equivalent of Sripahai - which I consider to be the defining Thai restaurant. Yeah, other Thai places are good, but Sripahai is the best, spiciest, most authentic.

I know this has been discussed here before, but I didn't see much in the recent threads. Thanks for any suggestions.

PS - We live in Jersey City which has it's own Little India a couple blocks from the Journal Square Path station. 4-5 blocks of nothing but Indian restaurant, sweet shops, groceries, video stores, jewlery stores, sari shops. Some very good food (we eat there at least once a week) and ultra cheap groceries. Much cheaper than the Little India on Lexington. And it's packed with Indian shoppers and diners -a good sign. Worth a short ride to NJ. Let me know if you want directions.
