Went to Bar Number 8 on Dock Street last night. A smallish bar that has become serious about Irish food in the last few weeks. Small cozy setting overlooking the harbor. The chef uses as much local Irish food as possible. Wife and I both had ribeye which was extremely flavorful and perfectly done. When I say flavorful I mean I would match the taste and texture (although not the size) with Shanhan's in Dublin and Peter Lugar in Brooklyn (and certainly not the price). Sides were excellent. Dessert was a dense chocolate mousse with cayenne pepper and a mild caramel sauce on the side that was a perfect complement. Good wine although not extensive list. Prices very reasonable for this quality of food in Ireland. It does have a limited menu, but I highly recommend giving it a go.
