Buried deep in these threads (don't go digging) is a single reference to a so-called "illegal restaurant"
in the Detroit area. It may well now have been closed for several years. Supposedly, it was located in a residential neighborhood in southwest Detroit, near the Melvindale/Dearborn border. The restaurant was known for wonderful Italian food!
Sounds like a great place to find if it is still
around, or a fun piece of history if it has, in fact passed on. I hope the owners never got in trouble, and if it still exists, I hope other posters can
provide some discreet clues without blowing the
whistle on a good thing.
Please enlighten us.
