Why the hype at Extra Virgin?

I went tonight. A small chunk of plain grilled halibut served on a soupy bed of sliced tomatoes. I felt like I was eating spa food.

I did like the gorgonzola dip for the side of fries I ordered. The Riesling was good, and the mascarpone cheesecake was good if unremarkable (couldn't taste the pignoli in the crust). But why is this place packed in night in and night out?

(I was there because Mary's Fish Camp was closed. Are they closed on Sundays?)
