I grew up on Tito's Tacos, and had more than my share of burritos from Freebirds, TA's, and Super Cucas in Santa Barbara and Roberto's and its many derivatives in San Diego, and must say I was a bit skeptical of all the rave reviews of El Teypeyac.
Well, all I can say is that El Teypeyac lived up to its esteemed reputation and then some! My wife and I are both big eaters, and we easily could have split one burrito. She had the Hollenbeck and I had the Steak Picado Burrito. Both are outstanding, with a perfect amount of spice (I normally have to load up the salsa on mexican food, but this fare was spicy enough without it...), and there is plenty left over for our dinner tonight.
