The Holidays are Over! Why all the Thanksgiving/Christmas stuff?

nofunlatte | | Jan 17, 2010 09:05 AM

It's Jan. 17 today, and I'l still seeing "how to make thanksgiving stuffing", "how to brine your turkey", "how to make your flaky thanksgiving pie crust", "a gingerbread home for the holidays", "tamales for the holidays", "best mail-order gifts for 2009(!)", etc. on the page. Why? Comfort food, soups, stews, braises--references to these I understand, as they are typically associated with cold winter weather. I'm talking about the overt holiday stuff. C'mon, Chow, at least get us ready for Valentine's Day or Mardi Gras or Tet/Chinese New Year--THOSE are actually UPCOMING holidays!
