Well, it finally opened. This place took over the old Youngs BBQ spot on the corner of Keene and Gulf to Bay in Clearwater. While I know that Frank Chavez(Salt Rock Grill, Island Way Grill, etc.) is involved with it, I don't whether he took it over completely or did a partnership with the Greek family who previously owned Young's.
Today was it's first open day. Must be a soft opening as the "Open Soon" was still up outside. They call themselves a Deep Sea Bar-B-Que restaurant. The food items all centered around either barbeque or seafood. The menu has quite a few inovative items on it. They also have a large beer assortment along with a full bar.
I was quite please with my lunch. I had a plate of three Hog Wild tacos. One each of chicken, beef brisket, and pulled pork. Each one had different ingredients in the tortilla with the meat. The brisket taco was excellent.
They are open Sun. to Thursday 11 to 10 and later on Fri. and Sat. No reservations though and it is not a large place. Maybe 80-100 seats inside and probably 60 outside for the smokers. I think parking will a problem also.
But these problems are minor compared to the eating experience. Try it and come back us what you think.
