"Best" High Tea? NYC trip next week.

Hi everyone. I'm from the LA board out here on the left coast in LALA land. My wife and I are coming to Manhattan next week for a vacation.

Having been to NYC many times myself (but a first for the wife!), our dinner/lunches are pretty well taken care of, but wanted to take my wife to a real High Tea. Nearly all of my NYC travel has been for business, so NYC food experience is primarily, high end to ultr-high end expense account food, coupled with some really great street and deli food.

Unfortunately, I have little to no experience with High Tea in NYC. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

As an FYI, we are staying at the St. Regis, and I did do a search finding some recommendations for the Astor Court there. While that would be convenient, if there was a better choice, I would LOVE to hear of it. Also, if you could please include any dress code requirements with the rec's that would be great.

Lastly, our dinner/lunch confirmed reservations list is as follows, so if you have any strong thoughts on these places, that would be great. Our confirmed places are; Il Mulino, Gramercy Tavern, Le Bernadin, Gotham Bar & Grill, Babbo, Daniel & March. Some of these are for lunch, and I know that the prices will be extra large, but we are staying and flying on points, and this is our wedding anniversary, so we want to splurge.

Thanks for the help!
