I just finished reading the book by Hidden Kitchens: Street Corner Cooking, Kitchen Rituals, And Visionaries by Nelson, Davia; Silva, Nikki; Nelson, Davia Lee
They discuss the hidden, off the radar places they have found across the country where one can buy prepared food.
The one that comes to mind in San diego was a tiny Mexican restaurant in Golden Hills that on Friday and Saturday nights they closed the main part of the restaurant and starting at 10 pm the grill was brought outside to the patio and small street tacos were created where people would drop by buying dozens at a time. Unfortunately they are now gone for progress - a new Starbucks coffee house :(
Does anyone know any current hidden kitchens around the county?
