Ok Oyster lovers, the annual OysterFest is October 5 & 6 in Shelton.
This is an annual event that is not well know to Seattlites. (If you have never considered Shelton a food destination, I understand. However, read on...)
Naturally this food event is much smaller than the Bite of Seattle or the Taste of Tacoma--so much the better. Not every booth features oysters, but most do.
Nice people, great food (lobster is always available), just a fun day out. (The Native American salmon and fry bread outclasses Ray's boathouse and costs $5.00.)
Ironically, the event itself is NOT in Shelton. It is at the Shelton airport, about 3 miles north of town on HWY 101.
I have gone several years; not crowded, the weather is usually good and it makes for a great day trip.
If you believe in Jim's definition of a "Chowhound" than this is your food event.
