Herbivore brunch report

We had a wonderful experience at the Divisadero location yesterday. My husband ordered the corn cakes with black beans, which came with an unexpected side of delicious potatoes, plus guacamole, salsa, nice black beans and delicious corn cakes studded with red and green peppers. My order turned out to be too similar -- basically the same stuff with a piece of corn bread subbed for the cake, plus a fantastic order of scrambled tofu that was a far cry from the bland tofu scrambles I often get (I'm not an egg fan). I think it was because they cut the tofu into teensy little pieces, letting the spices in. For two people the check was a mere $25 (with tip and tax and coffee/tea for both of us), and we got to sit on the serene patio soaking up the unexpected sun. I was pleasantly surprised by the goodness of the food since the lunch-dinner offerings can be a bit bland. Check it out!
