As I grew up near Henry's Tacos, it has been always had a soft spot in my heart as a Taco, and Spanish Rice w/ green chilie sauce - Meca" for me. I took my wife there recently on the way to our twins "girl scout camp" family show nite, and maybe I realized finally that $1.80 for a "soft taco" seems a little out of whack! A small Tostada w/ beans, and cheese was about $2.00 . By comparison, Taco Bell, is about $1.00 for the same item.
I realize Henry's is a small buisness, and they do make a quality product, but am I being cheap, or are we paying a bit more for the nostalgia of the eatery?
Otherwise the food tasted about average, and my wife was quick to point out she felt Taco Bell tasted just as good! (Ouch)!
One other question, is there anywhere in LA other than frozen to buy White Castle style hamburgers in LA? I recently inquired to the Krystal chain , and they are not coming to LA in the foreseeable future! I used to get Krystal Burgers after 100+ mile bike rides in Northern Florida earlier this year when I was on location there.
