Was browsing the Dehillerin website and found they had a line of hatelets. Their size and material weren't listed, but presume they are about 4" long and merely for skewering small items to garnish a main course and not for cooking, even though they specialize in cookware. And presume they're stainless steel looking at the small pics -- could one use them for sauteeing/ broiling for a few quick mins? Will contact the company tomorrow.
Interested in buying a few other interesting, small (as live in NYC w/ little cupboard space!), fun items of top quality to dress up presentation and others for cooking, but again must be small (ie a top-quality mandoline and veg slicer are on my list). Have several very nice platters, a lovely relish tray, but want to be a bit more creative/ unusual with other table/ plate accessories, which would then stimulate my creativity in the kitchen! I like the vertical system for serving tapas/ apps, but have yet to find a really beautiful one worthy of my little free space!
