We all know the story...
You try a product at your local market and fall in love. Maybe they have some great scones in the bakery case. Perhaps they stock a hard to find microbrew you dig. Then one day you cruise to get your fix, and the space is empty. "Sorry, we just ran out". O.K., you deal with it. Next time you show up and they don't have your favorite, again. This time they tell you that the " district office" has decided to discontinue the item.
It has happened to all of us. My favorite is Jim's legendary Quisp quest. Now I want to hear about it from the local hounds. What product disappear off you shelves and send you out on white whale hunts?
My 2 examples are Clover milk and Schraffenberger chocolate. I go out of my way to get this stuff. They aren't excessively rare like a box of Quisp, but more places should carry those products.
More often than not it's a small local producer that makes incredible potato chips or heavenly cookies, but don't do well getting their product into places where it can be sold. What are your examples?
