What happened with La Louisiana?

I'd heard raves about the place and been meaning to check it out for a long time. A group of friends went with us last week - including a couple who'd been there before and said it was very good - and had a terrible meal. I thought the food was way overpriced and mediocre. The fried okra appetizer was tasteless and slimy inside. My boyfriend ordered a seafood platter that looked like something you'd get from Ivar's in a mall food court - completely deep fried and no crab cakes, as advertised. I had blackened catfish and chose yams and greens to go with it. The yams were disgustingly sweet, like cotton candy, and the greens were so salty I could barely eat them (and I'm a person who likes a LOT of salt). The presentation wasn't very good, either. I was amazed that a restaurant that looked so nice would serve dipping sauce in disposable plastic containers!

Has anyone eaten there and had a different experience? I heard they have new management and have slashed their food budgets, but don't know if that's true.
