My husband and I will be staying in Hanoi for 4 nights and in Hoi An for 7. Accommodation is Sofitel Metropole in Hanoi and The Nam Hai near Hoi An.
I know that many people on this forum would opt for street food as being the way to eat and whilst we're happy to do that somewhat at lunchtimes for dinner we prefer a more ambient setting where we can linger but don't want to forsake that for the food. Vietnamese is our first choice but would be happy to throw in a couple of different cuisines just to mix things up a little.
The restaurants we have earmarked are listed below. Can you please review and give me one more rec for Hanoi or point out if we are making any terrible mistakes or if there's anywhere we've missed out that's a must do, given the above criteria.
Au Lac House
- need one more was possibly thinking of Wild Rice??
Red Bridge - can you confirm if they are open for dinner?
- was also considering having dinner one night at the hotel, although I know i will be muh more expensive that the local dining options. Was also tossing up between Mango Mano and Morning Glory.
Any advice you have will be greatly appreciated.
