My wife and I had dinner last Saturday at La Canada's newest, most upscale (read: expensive) restaurant, Flintridge Proper. The two main courses were just average. Chicken breast and salmon with an ala carte side of brussel sprouts, dessert and a bottle of wine came to $140. Most irksome however was being told by our server that the martini that I ordered when we sat down would be couple more minutes because the bartender was "handcrafting it." Really? Does anyone else find this "handcrafting" trend pretentious and annoying?
