The new owners have begun to introduce "specials" and what I had last night was pretty tasty. I tried the new puree of roasted red and yellow pepper soup, quite good with just enough heat to give a zing, properly seasoned and a good depth of flavor.
As a main I had a sort of Mediterranean salad with peeled and cubed cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, fresh basil and grilled lemon pepper shrimp that was dressed with only Ext. Virg. Olive Oil and a half of a grilled lemon, (on the side of the bowl) which I squeezed over the salad and then salted and peppered to taste. It has two sort of large triangles of thickly sliced grilled sourdough bread. Pretty darn tasty, although the shrimp had been grilled a little too long so had dried out a bit too much.
They also had a new "Chauteaubriand" burger that sounded good and a vine ripened tomato, mozzarella and fresh basil appetizer that I will try the next time around.
They were also offering a lemon meringue tart that went by to the next table and visually looked great, but have not tasted....yet!
This was at the location in West LA on Sepulveda and National, but my understanding is that they are rolling this out at all the locations.
