Hair of the dog- quick review

Visited hair of the dog tonight for a quick bite. Had the nachos and hummus to start. Nachos were really good, I like how they used flour tortillas and fried them instead of corn chips, they were very crispy, with a couple different types of cheese. Hummus was a big portion but the pita bread it was served with wasn't warm and soft like I like, it seemed to be a bit over toasted so it was a bit hard, but hummus and red pepper dip was still pretty good. For mains we had the fish and chips, steak salad and burger with fries. The burger was really good, very thick and juicy, not overdone like so many burgers. The fish was just okay, very very small piece of fish (maybe 3-4 oz tops), and I found the batter tasted a little chewy and old, not crispy and fresh. I think it must have been that it was sitting a long time because our food (including the fries) were a bit soggy and luke warm. The steak salad was what really impressed me, very big portion of steak cooked to order in a peanut marinade with sauteed peppers and onions on greens, very flavourful. In general, I liked the atmosphere and loved the music so I would probably return and just hope my food got to me while it was still hot.
