My husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary by dining at the Grist Mill Saturday night. We couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. The menu is pretty straightforward: steaks, seafood, etc.. For starters, we decided on the crab and shrimp cocktail. It was a refreshing way to start the meal. For dinner we ordered the pork tenderloin, wrapped in bacon with madeira sauce. (from the evening specials) On the side were perfectly cooked vegetables and homemade spinach ravioli. After dinner, we were tempted by the assortment of desserts, so we had to try SOMETHING. Chocolate and marscapone cake for me, Chocolate and Almond cake for my husband. Both were just enough to satisfy the sweet tooth without being too rich or heavy.
Our server was very efficient and pleasant. My favorite part of the evening was when she suggested we linger after eating, to enjoy the scenery. All too often we are hurried through meals at various restaurants, and this was a nice change of pace.
We will definitely return, perhaps to try the tavern menu.
