I went here for lunch with a former co-worker this week. It's a simple bistro adjacent to a rather impressive and exotic plant shop. We ordered the daily quiche and a sort of chopped salad with grapes. Although lackluster in its appearance, the salad was fresh and crunchy, with a nice variety of flavors.

My complaint was the service. The bartender, who was also our server, when asked after one-half hour whether our food was on the way, said that the kitchen was backed up, even thought there were only four other customers in the establishment. She was utterly uninterested when we explained that we were on our lunch hours. She had to be reminded to bring bread, even though she'd offered to do so. She never asked about refills of water or coffee. She took her time taking the check. If only she had shown some empathy, I would have been happy.

Given that she did not, she did not get a tip from us. I have never withheld a tip before, but I simply couldn't leave without expressing my displeasure, and I was not in the mood for an exchange of words.
