Stopped by Green Market today. It's definitely a new market & will likely be much different in a month or two.
First of all, they seem to have an identity problem. Have seen them call themselves Green Market, Go Green Market & Going Green. Need to stick with one or they're just going to confuse people.
As far as the market itself, the location is nice. They've closed off a good part of Craftsman Court and it has a nice relaxed feel. Also ample parking all over & great places to grab lunch nearby.
My favorite things with farmers markets are great produce and good food so that's what I look for. There are a couple of produce vendor and a couple of food stalls.
I'm very excited to see Seacat Gardens there as we've been a big fan of them from Downtown Market for years. From talking with them, it sounds like they are really expanding their offerings which is great. Can't wait for their unbeatable tomatoes a bit later in the year.
We're also fans of Crooked Sky Farms from Downtown Market & they have about the same size presence at Green Market.
We also saw a number of vendors that have presences at either OTFM (Old Town Farmers Market) or Downtown Market or both:
Herb n Organics
Been There Roast That
Vegan desert folks - think they're called Guilt Free Deserts
Gil's Taste of Taos
Big Belly BBQ
When we first started going to OTFM a couple months ago, it was far different from what it is now so it will be interesting to see what Green Market becomes.
Having some of the great local restaurants at OTFM was huge for me so I'll definitely be on the lookout for more food offerings at Green Market.
