Great Visit to Early Girl Eatery in Asheville

Thanks to everyone who mentioned Early Girl Eatery in Asheville. I did a search on this board, and found quite a few positive posts. All with good reason.

I ordered a special of garlic and potato cakes with tomato gravy, eggs, and a biscuit. Also sampled the sesame crusted tofu salad and a slice of peanut butter pie.

The potato cakes were like mashed potatoes with a very fine crust - this was a WOW dish that could humble many a fine restaurant. I couldn't stop eating the tofu salad. The sesame tofu was served room temp (a surprise) but was delicious with perfect, fresh strips of corn off the cob, sugar snaps, and red pepper. The peanut butter pie was out of some light and airy dream.

All in all, an impressive meal by any standards. All Chowhounds dream of living near such a careful and talented kitchen.
