Great Pretzels (thanks) at Loreley

Went to Loreley last night on Rivington Street in the Lower East Side, thanks to Chowhound, and enjoyed the garden area with some good German pilsener and some wonderful pretzels - hot, crusty outside, not too much salt and wonderful soft inside. so "vielen danke" chowhound for the recommendation!!

Also had the potato pancakes and spaetzle with cheese & bacon. The potato pancakes were fine - but since I personally like them less like pancakes and more like shredded potatoes and onions fried to a crisp, they weren't quite to my taste. The spaetzle was also good, but not quite as light and tasty as my mother in law makes them (but who does) and I have to say the bacon was something new for us in this dish and we thought it a nice addition.

Definitely a nice casual place to meet some friends, have some beers and a pretzel or three. we'll be back!
