We had another fine meal at Erewan last night: a Saturday night and only 4 tables filled at any time. We continue to be amazed at the lack of people here. It's a nice clean restaurant and the prices are not at all unreasonable for the quality of the cooking and ingredients and quantity of the servings.
I had tom ka - a seafood soup in a complex, very spicy and rich broth. My friend had tofu soup with fresh veggies and cellophane noodles. Also spicy and good. We shared a mango salad and Erewan noodles with ground pork and Thai basil. Both dishes were oustanding and showed much bolder spicing than I'm used to finding in most US Thai restaurants. The mango salad had generous chunks of fresh mango over lettuce, tomato, carrot, and onions with a nuac mam/soy sauce dressing. Quite a taste sensation. The house wide rice noodles came with plenty of spicy ground pork and basil. We would order everything again. We had a pot of ginger and a pot of ginseng tea. We were too full for dessert. They offer homemade coconut and green tea ice cream. The bill was $45 including tax and tip. And it's BYO.
Also try the shredded cabbage salad and sauteed eggplant. Their pad thai is also pretty good.
