This was my first time at this restaurant but certainly not the last! As many of you know, this is the more upscale "sister" of Angelini Osteria in the Orlando Hotel at Third/Orlando, couple of blocks east of La Cienega.
We're both doing low carbs so we decided to split several apps and a main, so I can't report on the pasta. We originally had thought of 3 apps and a main but our nice waiter was generous enough to tell us that he thought that might be too much food, so we settled on a very interesting tiny green lentil salad over some shreaded chicken with, of all things, a fried egg on top (sunny side), which was absolutely delicious--great blend of flavors. The other salad was an arugula and beat combo, which was also just delicious, and good eating at the same time as the other.
Our main course was seared tuna, sliced thin in a beautiful presentation on lovely eggplant/red pepper combo--beautifully plated so it looked almost like a dessert. This was a really spectacular flavor--a combination I wouldn't have thought of but it was just perfect.
It was the perfect amount of food for two dieting women celebrating a birthday, and we both left feeling very happy with the meal and the nice warm weather. The staff, by the way, is uniformly gracious and went out of their way to be so.
Can't wait to go back for dinner.
