Ate three times recently in Blue Ribbon Bakery. The bread, food and appetizers are very good in general and the place is very nice (go downstairs to visit the bakery).
What seduced me to go back is the fantastic appetizer of 4 Guatemalan jumbo shrimps (huge), cooked and served in their shells and with heads-on. I ate the fantastic shrimps and sucked the juices from their heads to feel the aroma of the Guatemalan sea - and ordered an extra dish. These shrimps have that wonderful, somewhat stinking shrimp-y aroma that reminded me good Mediterranean shrimps. These Guatemalan shrimps are very different from the bland rubbery shrimp-meat that you get in so many restaurants, were the taste is only in the dipping sauce.
Restaurants that cook and serve shrimps with shells AND heads-on would automatically gain my respect. Their chefs know where the good flavors hide.
