Hadn't tried ECG in ten years, but the recent posts here convinced me to try it again.
After the hour plus wait (spent the time at the Irish Pub drinking Guiness and watching Olympic curling on TV-no complaints here), we were seated in the back corner; much quieter than the main room next to the bar.
Tried the wet bone, and tuna tacos for appetizers. The bone was basically inedible; dry (I used the word "desicated") way too chewy, completely smothered in the hoisin-type sauce. Hurt my jaw to eat it. Our waitress was GREAT. When I told her about it, she said she thought we got hosed, and took them off the bill. The tacos were wonderful.
Had the Tuna main dish (seared on the outside, very rare on the inside) and it was yummy. The wife had the striped bass special which was not so yummy. Was overcooked (suprising), the plantain crust was tasteless (reeked of gimmick), and the salad it was on was stuff that was mostly out of season (tomatoes), and thus, not great.
Not worth $100, in my opinion.
I have seen Chowhounders rave about ECG, but the two times I've been, I've been way underwhelmed. Won't go back.
On the upside, had an Oreo frappe at Christina's afterward, and it was wonderful.
